David, BetheBand member

"I got quite bored of just playing at home by myself. I wanted to play with other musicians. And it's quite a struggle to find them, arrange a time to meet, arrange a time to practice."

The feelings you might have

We've heard them all. Here's the truth.

🎵
The feeling
"I've been playing on my own for years. I don't know if I'm ready to play with others."

One relaxed chat with a band director. We get to know your level and match you with musicians in the same place. No auditions. Just a conversation.

👥
The feeling
"Finding people at my level who like the same music, that sounds impossible."

That's exactly what we do. We match by skill level, instrument, and genre preference. Most members say finding the right bandmates was the thing they'd given up on.

🎤
The feeling
"I'd love to play live. But performing in front of an audience sounds terrifying."

"Getting over the fear of performing in front of an audience, that's a major thing. There's only one way to do that. It's just to go through. I'm glad I did."
- Paul, 6 terms with BetheBand. Every term ends on stage. Family always welcome.

The bandmates you didn't know you were looking for.

I was genuinely looking forward to every Monday. It was a great opportunity to play with other like-minded musicians.

Your questions

Straight answers.

I've been playing on my own for years. Will I fit in?

Absolutely. Most of our members are in exactly the same position. You've reached a solid level by yourself. The Meet & Greet helps us understand where you are so we can match you with musicians at the same stage.

What genres do you cover?

Mostly pop, rock, and blues covers, though we're open to other styles. Everyone in the band suggests five songs, and we aim to include at least one per person.

What does the matching process involve?

After your Meet & Greet, we place you into the right band based on your skill level, instrument, genre preferences, and goals. It can take a few weeks to find the perfect match, and we'd rather take the time and get it right than rush it.

What if I can't make every rehearsal?

We ask members to attend at least 6 of the 8 sessions. Life happens. Just let your band director know in advance.

Do I need to bring my own instrument?

Studios provide keyboards and drum kits. All other instrumentalists should bring their own.

Is there an age limit?

We welcome musicians aged 18 to 80. BetheBand is for adults who love playing music, whatever stage of life they're at.

Can friends and family come to the final show?

Always. The more the merrier. We want everyone to have the full experience.

Who is BetheBand for?

Most members are over 50. Some are coming back to music after a long break. Others never stopped, and just want to learn and improve by playing consistently with others. If you've reached a certain level of competence playing on your own at home and you're ready to take the next step, BetheBand is for you.

You've come a long way on your own. Now play with others.
